Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome any questions that you may have about using our studio. The following are some of the questions we get asked regularly, but if there's something that you'd like to know or would like to discuss anything to do with your upcoming shoot, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Where are you located? We’re just five minutes to the north of Central Milton Keynes, centrally located to be within easy reach of the M1 and A5 as well as approximately five minutes drive from Milton Keynes railway station, providing quick links to London Euston (35 minutes) and Birmingham (45 minutes) stations. There’s a full map and directions to the studio found on the contact us page of the website.
  • Is your studio suitable for fashion shoots? Yes. We have a number of well known local fashion labels, distributors and retailers that regularly shoot their products in our studio.
  • Can you provide me with assistance in using studio lighting? Yes. Whether you just need a hand moving something around, right up to setting the lights up for you and ensuring the shot is perfectly exposed - we’re here to help when needed. Once you’re happy to start your shoot, we will leave you to it. But don’t worry; we’re always on-hand if you get stuck!
  • Do you have on-site car parking? We have our own courtyard for parking of up to four cars with additional on-street parking right outside too.
  • Can I bring my own models/subjects to take photos of? Absolutely. We offer a listing of models that have worked at our studio before and can be recommended to our customers. You are equally welcome to select any model from any source to work with at our studio; there is no need to only pick from our own model profiles if you do not want to.
  • Is your studio suitable for filming? Yes. We’ve welcomed many production companies of all styles to our studio. We can offer basic continuous video lighting equipment to help you along. Whilst the building is not soundproof, we are located in a reasonably quiet location.
  • Do you offer catering facilities? We have a small fully-equipped kitchen and we are able to offer buffet catering for you and your guests with prior notice. Please contact us for more details.
  • I am a photographer looking for a local studio to use as a base to shoot from. Can you help? Yes. We offer a full ‘white label’ service for several photographers, including wedding photographers that would like a studio base to shoot portrait, engagement and boudoir style photos from. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
  • Can I view the studio before making a booking? Of course. We’re happy to show you around the studio facility and to discuss requirements for your shoot. We operate on an appointment basis, so please contact us to arrange a good time to visit us.
  • I’ve never used a studio before. Can you help? Of course. We will be happy to give you a brief introduction to the equipment and the settings at any time during your studio hire. It’s not rocket science...honest! But if you feel that you’d benefit from some additional tuition, then we also run a range of one-to-one and group training events that you might benefit from. Have a look at our tuition pages for more information.
  • Is your studio suitable for family portrait shoots? Yes! We have a first class facility for all photographers and we have a family-friendly environment for your shoot. We also have a number of props, such as a bubble machine, space hoppers and a giant blow-up sofa which can help with fun family shoots.
  • Can I arrive early to set-up before the shoot? Yes. We can give you access to the studio fifteen minutes before your booking time to allow for setting up and getting settled in. Please let us know if you think you need additional time before or after your booking times. Please note that this is subject to studio availability and may not be possible at busier times.
  • My booking may overrun/I am running late. Is this OK? We will do our best to accommodate any shoots that might run outside of the booked times. This may not be possible at busier times or might incur additional studio hire fees for any hour or part of that your shoot overruns.
  • Do you have changing facilities in your studio? We do. We have a private dressing room, with Hollywood-style make-up lighting around the mirrors, a clothes rail, iron and ironing board which is completely separate to the studio areas.
  • Can I sublet my studio booking to other people? We can accept bookings to sublet studio time to others, for example if you would like to arrange an event where other photographers will be attending. However any subletting of your studio booking should be agreed in advance with us, so please contact us to discuss your requirements and we’ll be happy to help.
