An important factor for model consideration is safety.
One golden rule is, if you are not comfortable...
don’t do it.
Models will always get strange requests in their career,
be careful! We have listed some simple suggestions,
which should minimise the pitfalls associate with this
industry: -
1. Never
use your real name, always use a “stage name” which is
both catchy and memorable.
2. Use a
mobile phone for all communication.
3. Never
divulge your home address or landline telephone number,
whenever possible get a PO Box address.
4. In the
early days, or until you are familiar with the
photographer or studio you are using, always take a
friend or relative with you on the shoot. A professional
photographer will not mind this as long as it does not
interrupt the shoot.
5. Get
references from other models about the studio and/or
photographer you are using.
6. Be
specific with the details of the shoot, i.e. exactly
what is required? Make sure that the photographer’s
expectations are not different to yours.
7.
Whenever possible agree a price before the job.
