This is a brand new workshop where you will learn how to create images that take their influence from the pinup master – Alberto Vargas
Joaquin Alberto Vargas y Chávez was a noted Peruvian painter of pin-up girls. He is often considered one of the most famous of the pin-up artists. Numerous Vargas paintings have sold and continue to sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Wikipedia
We will start with styling and props and then setup several different shoots with our model, Sharon Janney. Sharon is a professional hairdresser as well an a very experienced model. She can recreate the “look” You will learn classic poses and how to light this genre of photography.
After a light lunch it is into post processing. In order to make your photos look like airbrush paintings a lot of work has to be done on skin. Andrew will demonstrate several methods of achieving the look plus how to use the liquify tool, dodging and burning, tinting and ageing with textures. Then it is over to you to work on your images that you have taken in the morning under Andrew’s watchful eye.
This event contains tasteful nudity, you will need your camera with a suitable lens as listed below plus a laptop with Photoshop CS or CC loaded. If you do not have a laptop you can still attend but instead of working through the post processing on your own images you will be able to follow along and then take away the Photoshop files to review at a later date.
All delegates will receive a 90 minute pinup retouching video.
